Accessibility statement
Last reviewed: Oct 31, 2026
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use MakerVera, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or other assistive technology. We work toward WCAG 2.0 Level AA, the standard Ontario's accessibility law (AODA) asks organizations with 50 or more employees to meet for their websites.
What this statement covers
The MakerVera app and its public pages, including sign-in, sign-up, the public store and donation pages, and our legal pages.
It does not cover content a makerspace adds, such as event descriptions, images and documents, or pages run by other companies, such as Stripe's payment pages.
Known gaps
We know about these gaps and are working on them:
- A full manual review against WCAG 2.0 Level AA, including testing with screen readers, has not been completed yet. Automated checks run on every change.
- Some parts of the booking calendar, the date picker, plan and add-on choices, and links and buttons shown in a makerspace's own colour on sign-in pages do not yet meet colour-contrast or screen-reader requirements. We are fixing them; contact us if one gets in your way.
- On some pages, an error or status message is not yet announced to screen readers, focus is lost after a button is pressed, or a tabbed section is not fully described to screen readers. We are fixing them; contact us if one gets in your way.
- Content makerspaces add, such as images without descriptions or scanned documents, may not be accessible. Contact the makerspace or us and we will help.
- Card payments happen on Stripe's hosted pages, which Stripe makes accessible under its own statement.
Report a barrier or ask for another format
If something on MakerVera is hard or impossible to use, or you need information in another format, email us at info@makervera.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you like, the assistive technology you use.
We reply within 5 business days.
