Content & Expression Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-25
1. Our Stance
MakerVera is built for makers. We support makers, artists and artistic expression, including work that some people may find provocative or uncomfortable. You are welcome to use MakerVera for any lawful purpose that follows our Terms of Service.
This policy explains who is responsible for content on pages hosted by MakerVera, what isn't allowed, and how to report something.
2. Who Is Responsible for Content
Makerspace operators, not MakerVera, create and are responsible for the content they publish. This includes makerspace names, donation campaign names, events, products, descriptions and anything else they post. Anyone else who posts through MakerVera, such as a member, is responsible for what they post.
Makerspace pages are hosted by MakerVera, often at a web address such as yourspace.makervera.com. Content on a page or subdomain hosted by MakerVera is not an endorsement by MakerVera.
3. What Isn't Allowed
You may not use MakerVera to publish or share:
- Content made with the explicit intent to harm, harass or threaten people, or to incite violence against them
- Content made with the explicit intent to disrupt other people or the service
- Unlawful content
- Content that impersonates MakerVera or anyone else, or misrepresents your connection to them
The Acceptable Use rules in our Terms of Service also apply.
4. Makerspace Names and Web Addresses
MakerVera may restrict some makerspace names and names used in web addresses, for example reserved names, brand names and offensive names.
MakerVera may remove or rename content that breaks this policy or our Terms of Service.
5. How to Report Content
If you see content on a page hosted by MakerVera that you think breaks this policy:
- Everyday reports: email support@makervera.com with the subject "Content report". Include the link to the page and a short description of what's wrong.
- Formal notices: send copyright or trademark takedown notices, law-enforcement requests and other legal claims to legal@makervera.com.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
6. How We Handle Reports
Apart from the checks on names described above, MakerVera does not monitor or pre-screen the content that makerspace operators publish. We may review content that is reported to us and act under this policy and our Terms of Service. We decide what action, if any, to take, and we may not reply to every report.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service. If the two differ, the Terms of Service apply. If a translation of this policy differs from the English version, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by applicable law.
